{"product_id":"requiem-in-full-score-latin-edition","title":"Requiem in Full Score (Latin Edition)","description":"Composed shortly before Mozart's death, this masterpiece of vocal composition is among the most recorded and performed religious work in the repertoire. Mozart's Requiem is reprinted here in an authoritative edition, combining the voices of orchestra, chorus, and soloists into a deeply moving, elegiac work of great intensity.\n\nOne of the most recorded and performed standards of the repertoire, the Requiem K 626 was not only one of Mozart's most inspired works, it was one of his last. It was commissioned in the summer of 1791 to memorialize the deceased wife of Count Walsegg-Stuppach, an amateur musician who was in the habit of ordering works from composers and presenting them as his own compositions. But his dubious patronage arrived only weeks before the rapid decline in Mozart's health that would end in the composer's death by the year's end. At the invitation of Mozart's widow, one of the master's pupils (Franz Xaver Süssmayr) worked from oral instructions and sketches to finish the nearly completed work.\nMozart and Süssmayr's contributions are indicated in the score by their initials (M.) and (S.). Includes a table of contents and table of instruments and voices. Instruments: 2 basset horns in F, 2 bassoons, 2 trumpets in D, 3 trombones (alto, tenor, and bass), timpani (2 drums), violins, viola, and basso continuo (cello, double bass, and organ). Vocals consist of soprano, contralto, tenor, and bass soloists and an SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) mixed choir. Reprint of the Breitkopf \u0026amp; Härtel, Wiesbaden, edition.\n\nDover publishes dozens of outstanding collections, from staples of the classical repertoire, opera and choral scores to art songs and lieder.
